What do you do when you got no money?
What do you do when you can’t be sunny?
What do you do when you can’t buy something?
What do you do when you can’t help someone?
What do you do when you pulled out all the stops?
What do you do when you feel like you got shot?
What do you do when you know your are lost?
It’s a hard breath you take
re-evaluate
let your mind not rest
fight cuz it’ll digress
in those moments, think hard
can’t be on the bench and just look down
pause for a second
try not to be sad, try not to frown
hold yourself tight
keep your gaze locked
there’s gotta still be room for tightening
give yourself a few moments
slow it down
think about the past
and how you were
think about the present
think about the future
can’t make so many changes
just one or two
enough to get you to the next point
I know I’m sad
it’s okay to be sad
I know I’m scared
it’s okay for your heart to race
it’s not happening right now
I understand
but there’s something about the mental, the mind
it’s a flashback, a word, a moment, a scene
that’s what we need, that’s what should play
at that instant…when we think we can’t do it no more
let that play
as they say
just a little bit longer
I stretch
These days will end soon, God Willing
